Review: Born Pretty lace stickers

Yay, a review of Born Pretty store to start 2012 with! Born Pretty store gave me the opportunity to choose two items to review! I love nail art decorations but they have to be flat! I just can't stand 3D nails, I always tend to peel the 3D parts off my nails -___- So I chose white lace stickers and dry dried flowers. And today I'm going to review the lace stickers.

First of all I want to thank them for sending me these items! They are really kind and their service is great. Secondly, I want to compliment them because of the super fast shipping! I received the package in five days! I can tell you a shipping of five days from China to The Netherlands is really fast!

The price of the stickers is $3.66 which is totally inexpensive. First I thought it's $3.66 for one sticker sheet. When I opened my package I saw 10 pieces of stickers. I went crazy and thought: 'why do I get so many?!?' I went to their website and saw that it comes with 10 pieces in total. Lol, I'm so stupid that I overread that. So actually it's only 40 cents per sticker sheet. What a bargain!

At the back of the sticker sheet you can find a description in English and Chinese of how to use the stickers. You have to cut the stickers to fit your nails which might be a struggle sometimes. For me, one row is enough for four fingers. Too bad it's not enough for a whole hand but since it comes with 10 pieces I don't mind at all! In general they are easy to apply. But getting the stickers off might take more time. Overall I'm veryyyy satisfied with these stickers! Recommended!

Here I applied the lace stickers on top of Catrice - #450 Sand Francisco. They made my plain nails really more elegant! What do you think?

The edge of the sea bottom

I hope all of you had a cosy Christmas time! :D Mine wasn't very special. Christmas is never a big issue in our family. Anyway, these are two Essence swatches I bought yesterday. Buy one and get the second item for half of the price at Kruidvat ^__^ I bought four swatches and I liked the combination of these two swatches. What do you think? I think the gold one is perfect for gradient effects since it's so transparent. This combination makes me think of dark mermaides or the bottom of the sea :p

Gradient crackle

Hi everyone! I felt like using my gold nail polish from Catrice and black cracking top coat from Essence. Using tape I did vertical crackled strokes. The widest at my thumb and getting narrower to the pinky. So... Tomorrow is Christmas already. How are your nails going to look like?

Dark sky filled with stars

The pictures don't show it well but the glitters are actually gold! I love this combination of denim jeans blue and gold glitters. And it surprises me that the glitters are so easy to remove. Glitters usually are a pain in the ass if it comes to removing them -__-

Definitely going to use this special topper from Essence for Christmas themed nails. Stay tuned for Christmas & Winter nail art :D

Elegant autumn

I was inspirated by a photo I saw at Weheartit. After applying the base colour I applied some golden glitter nail polish in the corner with a sponge. After that I drew the leaves and I completed the design with some glitters in the corner of the leaves :D

I'd love to do a tutorial for this but next week is test week ): so that means.. study study study. Wish me good luck! I will need it.

Tutorial: elegant half moon

I'm not going to write a life story first, just start with the tutorial!! :D

1. Take a shimmery light blue colour as a base colour or any other colour you want. Since I don't have a shimmery blue I first applied a blue colour and after that a glittery grey one. When applying the nail polish you don't have to do the lower part perfectly, since you'll be removing this part anyway in the next step.

2. When it's completely dry, take a cotton swab and dip it into your nail polish remover bottle. Make round movements with the cotton swab on the bottom of your nails. You now should have half moons like in the picture below.

3. Add 3 dots (with a dotting tool) on your nail like the picture.

4. Now the hardest part of all! *___* Connect them to the border of the half moon with two thin lines. Start with the dot in the middle. Make sure the lines aren't too thick. You want your nails to be elegant so they have to be thin. Tip: think of your nails wearing 3 necklaces.

5. Now connect the 2 other dots with the border.

6. Do the same with your other nails. Add top coat and you have elegant half moon nails now!
